ARF Models and Smart Upgrades
This season focuses on Almost Ready-to-Fly (ARF) aircraft and how to improve them beyond the basic factory setup. Joshua and Brian explain how products from DU-BRO RC, Horizon Hobby, and Deluxe Materials can strengthen and personalize any ARF build.
Joshua is working on a Hangar 9 Quarter Scale Cub ARF. He removes the glossy factory covering and replaces it with Oatex for a realistic fabric look. Like many builders, he struggles with matching yellow covering from different batches. He also adds rib stitching to improve scale detail.
Brian is building a Cub as well. He uses DU-BRO Cub-specific hardware to increase accuracy and durability.
Featured Build: The Ryan PT-22
The main project this season is Joshua’s detailed build of a Ryan PT-22. This aircraft was chosen for its unique shape and its many opportunities for advanced detailing.
